We Are Committed To Making Healthcare Accessible To All Ghanaians- NHIA CEO

NHIA Pays Over GH¢1.5million Since June Under The Free Dialysis Programme

CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIS), Dr. Da Costa Aboagye has identified the informal sector as a significant problem, facing the scheme.

According to him, many Ghanaians are not registered with the NHIS due to their informal employment status.

Speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning on Movement TV, Dr. Aboagye emphasized the need for regulation in both public and private sectors to ensure timely fund disbursement.

“We need to regulate the flow of funds to ensure that healthcare providers are paid on time,” he said.

He also highlighted the introduction of a property address system, which will enable the NHIS to track beneficiaries more effectively.

Additionally, Dr. Aboagye mentioned that the NHIS is now accredited to regulate pharmaceutical products, ensuring that beneficiaries receive quality medication.

He expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s manifesto, which he believes has a 20–30-year vision for Ghana’s development.

“We are committed to making healthcare accessible to all Ghanaians,” he concluded.
