Musician, Presenter and baby mama of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, Diamond Michelle Gbagonah, popularly known as Shatta Michy says Ghanaians can never beat or compete with Nigerians.
Speaking on her show, Movement Showbiz, on Friday April 23rd 2023, on Movement TV, Shatta Michy expressed her opinion in relation to the competition between Ghana and Nigerian music industry over the years and concluded that Ghanaians can never compete with Nigerians, as they stand by investing and putting in more effort in their craft.
She noted that ”At what point do we stop comparing because if we are going to compare, we might as well join the two countries. We can never beat Nigerians, we might join them or focus on what we are singing. Looking at that population, and this is a bunch of people with a bad government who are ready to die getting rich. They get rich or die trying .
We are relaxed here, we have everything. We have lights, security, they don’t have what we have so they are more driven than us . I will be happy if we stop comparing because the more we are comparing, the more we are loosing guard. Accusing them of stealing our hi-life, Azonto and Afro beat and we are still complaining. We can become alibis or focus.”
