Head of Computerized School Selection Placement system, Mark Mensah has noted that there’s no way all problems related to the selection system could be fully addressed.
However, he is of the firm conviction that the problems could be minimized.
Speaking exclusively to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV, he noted that a situation the secretariat is faced with is the fact that no matter the placement of school given to a student, either the ward or parent always have problem with, and this is an issue they have got to deal with.
He went further to urge that parents do not decide for their wards, what schools to select…However, they should do so with the consent of their wards and their teachers.
“Although, parents know their wards very well, I believe the teachers contribute to their wards’ successes…. they know their performances and can rightfully choose a school that suits their wards’ performances. One thing parents should also know is that it is not cast in stone, that the schools they attended are the same schools their wards must attend”, he added.
