Communication team member for the New Patriotic Party, Suleman Abubakar, affectionately called Lakulaku, has pointed out that the party will be able to win the 2024 elections if attention is channeled to the grassroot.
Speaking in an interview with Kwaku Dawuro, on Movement In The Morning, on Movement TV/Wontumi radio, Lakulaku emphatically stated that grassroot supporters are treated unfairly despite their massive contribution to the party win, and hence advised Party officers to channel more attention to them. According to him the party can win assuredly in the next election come December 2024 if grassroot supporters are regarded.
He asserted that ”What will build our party is always the constituency people who are facing the electoral coordinators and polling stations, but we need the national officers. I went with my former boss, Lord Komi to Asankragwa to resolve an issue at one of the polling stations and we were able to calm them down. Now that elections haven’t been conducted yet, we need a national officer to start going down for them to see, because we the officers conduct training and when we leave, the region continues to constituency level and to polling stations.
We need the national officers to go down there, go to a region and start working with them so that the polling stations will see. We shouldn’t wait for 2024, although there’s financial instability but we have leaders that can help because we are the cause of grassroots demanding for money before working now. We should stop that attitude of sharing money only at the top level because we can win election 2024 hands down if we change our attitude.”
