Former Ashanti Regional organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Agyenim Boateng, has argued that Ghana doesn’t need mere representation in Parliament, but rather competence.
According to him, although there have been several conversations centered on the need to have more women representation in the house of legislature, he believes it shouldn’t only be about their representation but how competent and capable they can deliver on their mandate.
“We keep talking about gender equality sand the need to have more women representatives in Parliament, but I believe the argument shouldn’t only be about having more women in Parliament because we need them, but it should be able their competence and capabilities”, he told Kwaku Dawuro on Movement in the morning show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio.
However, he advised the rank and file of the party to ensure that everyone is given an equal treatment to ensure that there’s peace and harmony.
“No one should be treated better over the other because these are the kind of things that bring apathy and division among party folks which will eventually affect our fortunes”, he said.
