What’s The State Of The 24-hour Economy- Hon. Tweneboa To Mahama

The MP for Manso Nkwanta, Tweneboa Kodua, has expressed disappointment and concern over the lack of progress on the 24-hour economy policy, a key initiative promised by the NDC during their campaign.

The policy, which was touted as a game-changer for the country’s economy, has seemingly stalled, with little to no updates on its implementation.

The MP’s concerns are compounded by the country’s economic performance, which has taken a downturn under the NDC’s leadership.

” The GDP growth rate has decreased from 5.7% to a projected 4.4%, a target that the World Bank has deemed unrealistic, predicting a more modest growth rate of 3.9%. Furthermore, revenue generation has declined, indicating a reduction in economic growth rate,” he told Oheneba Asiedu on Wontumi TV.

The MP criticized the NDC’s economic management, pointing out the stark contrast between their performance and the previous government’s achievements. He noted that former President Mahama had accused the NPP of “criminally managing” the economy, yet the current administration seems to be struggling to maintain the growth rate inherited from the NPP.

“What’s happening with the 24-hour economy policy?” the MP asked, urging the NDC to account to Ghanaians for the apparent lack of progress.

“The buzz and noise about this policy during the campaign are not what we’re seeing now. It looks as though it’s dead.”
