A member of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Alfred Ababio Kumi, has advised members of Movement for Change group, to quickly rescind their decision, and move back to their first love, NPP.
This comes after Approximately 6,000 young politicians across the country who had previously defected from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to join Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change announced their return to the NPP.
Speaking on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV, the former NPP Parliamentary candidate for Adenta, was remorse over his actions, as he extended an apology to the flagbearer of NPP, Dr. Bawumia. He said that the earlier actions sent a wrong impression, and he’s regretted making such a move.
“I own Dr. Bawumia an apology. He’s a good person. There is no candidate among those running for the Presidency who is Chris-like. First of all, a Christ-like leader is someone who is accessible and tell me who is accessible more than Dr. Bawumia”, he said.
He debunked allegations that the defected members of Movement for Change were bribed to abandon their support for Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change and join the NPP.
“Let’s just assumed indeed I was bribed…is that to suggest that all other Six Thousand members of the group were equally bribed…In any case, was I bribed before defecting to Movement for Change? There are speculations that former President Mahama is the one funding the activities of Movement for Change. Those are the questions we need to be asking if indeed it’s true that Mahama is funding the Movement for change group…I have carried both water and alcohol and I know which is heavy…If you are listening to me and you belong to the Movement for change group, then it’s better you advise yourself. The earlier the better.”, he told Kwaku Dawuro.
“Are you also been paid like Hopeson Adorye said he’s receiving salary…You’re very much aware that the candidate you are supporting wouldn’t win the election. So, if not for parochial interest, why would you still be throwing your support…. Mahama is a scary alternative…”, he added.
