A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s communications team, Freda Sarpong has asserted that the Assin Central Member of Parliament, Honourable Kennedy Agyapong is the best bet for the NPP to break-the-8-year jinx.
Speaking on Movement in the morning show with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement TV, she said that the personality of the candidate doesn’t matter. What matters most is the delivery capacity of the candidate.
“At this crucial moment, it’s not about personality but rather, the capabilities of the candidate to help the party break-the-8-year jinx. Thats the prime focus and goal. He’s the best candidate I believe in. I may even like the personality of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu( who is yet to publicly declare his intentions though) or Kojo Alan Kyeremanten, or any of the Presidential aspirants, but the victory of the party is what matters most”, she emphatically stated.
She explained further that this is due to feedbacks she’s been picking up since the lawmaker declared his intentions to contest the Presidential flagbearership position.
“I branded my cars with Hon. Kennedy Agyapong’s pictures during the primaries and whenever I’m stuck in traffic, there are a lot that hawkers share with me concerning the lawmaker. With that aside, during my trip to Dubai, I had a conversation with a NDC person, and this person categorically told me that if Kennedy Agyapong is elected as Presidential candidate for NPP, then he will vote for NPP in the 2024 elections…this is a Member of the NDC o”, she added.
In conclusion she said that there are a lot of such people and that is what has informed her decision to campaign for Kennedy Agyapong.
