The Women’s FA Cup round of 64 stage draw was held today in Accra with holders Ampem Darkoa Ladies drawn to host Dormaa Candy Soccer Ace.
In other interesting pairings, last year’s losing finalists Hasaacas Ladies will welcome Fiase Golden Royals to the Gyandu Park while 2016 Champions Police Ladies will engage lower-tier Ideal Ladies in another clash.
Army Ladies, a losing semi-finalist last year will also travel to play Jonina Ladies while Dynamite Ladies will host Fabulous Ladies.
The round of 64 stage will be played between January 13-23, 2023.
Draw
Explaining the modalities before the draw yesterday, the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo said the 64 teams in the draw were divided into Northern and Southern zones with teams being paired on a regional basis as well as proximity.
He further explained that the FA Cup calendar had been scheduled to ensure that there will be games from January till May.
He said the round of 32 stage games will be played between February 17-20, 2023; the round of 16 stage between March 17-20, 2023; the quarter-final stage between April 7-10, 2023; the semi-final stage between May 5-8, 2023; and the final on the weekend of May 26-29, 2023.
Mr Addo said the GFA would be providing the clubs with appearance fees and support to enable them to honour the games.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies pipped Hasaacas Ladies 1-0 to win their first FA Cup title last year.
