Ashanti regional chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako has said that Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong is too emotional.
This comes after the Presidential aspirant, had made certain utterances against the Ashanti Governor when he held his showdown walk in Ashanti region.
Responding to Kennedy Agyapong’s allegations that he contributed massively to the victory of the party in the region during the 2016 elections, Chairman Wontumi noted that although Kennedy Agyapong played a role in the party’s victory, he cannot take the credit alone.
“He can go and crosscheck from the records of his channel Ash FM….I paid for the people’s forum we held on Ash FM with my own money to ensure that we are able to campaign well for the party to emerge victorious. Despite the fact that I had Wontumi Radio/TV. When the world was hit hard by COVID-19 and the President declared a state of emergency, I had to ensure that I brought all MMDCEs to my channel, to propagate what they have been able to do in their municipalities and districts. I did this from my own coffers without receiving a dim from anyone…but I did so because I wanted the best for the party”, he explained.
Disclosing further that for one year after operating Wontumi Radio/TV, he wasn’t playing any commercial advert that could help him generate revenue because he only wanted to focus on promoting NPP.
These are evident that the Ashanti governor contributed massively to the victory of the party in the region during the 2016 elections, contrary to Kennedy Agyapong’s claims.
Chairman Wontumi went on to categorically state that there’s no way he will allow any of his presenters to insult Kennedy Agyapong as he claims.
“If he has any proof to those allegations, he should come with it, and I will deal with it. He shouldn’t always be reacting emotionally…it’s becoming unbecoming. The thing is Ghanaians say he talks too much”, he added.
He challenged Kennedy Agyapong to gather his evidence on pen drive and let him have it so he will work on it.
