The Volta Regional organizer of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Kosi Bodja, has stated threating the President should not be entertained as he is heads the nation and must be accorded with such respect.
His said this after President Akufo-Addo made a comment on Kumasi-based OTEC FM on Monday after the residents of Kwabre East threated to vote the NPP out of office in 2024 if government does not fix their deplorable roads.
Speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning, Kosi Bogya said that ‘’the President has been mandated with a responsibility to ensure the welfare of Ghanaians because they have given him their collective power. So when the people demand what’s due them, we must listen to them, however, the medium of conversation is very key’’.
‘’Using threatful language is not the best. You don’t expect the President who is the Commander In Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces to succumb to your threat, issues of threat should not be entertained’’, he added.
He went on to say that the NPP has fully benefited from the Ashanti Region.
‘’The golden rule of politics is that you must remember those who put you up there. Ashanti Region has contributed massively in the party so there is no way the President will neglect them. But they should understand that we cannot do everything at the same time’’.
He added that looking at the records, the government has been fair to the Ashanti Region.
