Despite launching the J.E.A Memorial Heritage to honor the memory of the late former President Mills, Mr. Stephen Atugiba has told former President John Mahama that his love for his predecessor is “fake”.
According to Mr. Stephen Atubiga, there was no love during the showmanship Mr. Mahama and his team put out when they made the move to launch the event.
In his view, Mr. Mahama should have invited the founder of the Atta Mills Institute, Mr. Koku Anyidoho to the event if he meant well.
Speaking on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Movementtvonline.com, Mr. Atubiga supported his case by noting the absence of Mills’ wife, Naadu Mills and his son, was too loud to ignore.
“Koku has sustained the legacy of Atta Mills by building an institute so if you are launching heritage, you must invite him, the wife and child of Mills too must be there…You (Maham) are faking the love for Atta Mills. None of you can celebrate the man more than his wife, child and Koku”, Mr. Atubiga stated.
In his view, though Mr. Mahama is of age, he often allow himself to be moved around by people who are “small boys”.
“Mahama is always allowing himself to be led to the slaughter house. You are a grown man but you allow the small boys to dictate to you all the time”, Mr. Atugiba said as he advised him to make peace of aggrieved members of the NDC.
In a recent ceremony that failed to attract media attention, Mr. Mahama and his team his team launched the J.E.A Mills Memorial Heritage.
At the event, the former President stated that ‘Appropriately, the Heritage seeks to inspire humanity for a better society, a virtue President Atta Mills lived and died for. Professor John Evans Atta Mills was a good man! It therefore gladdens the hearts of the many millions of people who loved him, that this decision was taken to launch the Atta Mills Heritage here on the campus of the University of Ghana.’
But Mr. Atugiba described the event as “a waste of time, political gimmicks… It is one of the useless, unwarranted move the NDC has taken.”
