The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga West, Honourable Clement Wilkinson, has debunked allegations that the sharing of Laptops to SHS students by the NPP government, is to buy their votes.
He opined that if there’s anything that should be described as vote buying, then it was the laptops that were shared during the erstwhile Mahama’s administration. Noting, that Mahama has no moral right to criticize the NPP government for sharing laptops to students.
He told Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio, that when Mahama shared laptops to SHS students in 2015, it was only two weeks to the general election, and he had his pictures both on the laptop and the boxes that contained the laptops. “This is what could be described as vote buying. The recent laptops shared by the government does not contain any thing that shows that it was distributed by NPP”, he said.
He went further to state that from all indications the NPP government will definitely win the 2024 general election.
“I visited Winneba, and there are road constructions ongoing, same with Dodowa, Dawhenya Amasaman, Kumasi Road, Kasoa too there’s construction ongoing…so if winning the election is all about projects and development, then NPP will sail through easily. The only challenge we had was the Dumsor. Akufo-Addo’s administration has worked assiduously for seven years without any power outage so for that thing to have happened within in a month, we were worried. But, as we speak, it’s been solved. …Akufo-Addo has done what Ghanaians need. there are Ghanaians who know the good things Akufo-Addo is doing…”, he said.
