A Senior Lecturer at Kumasi Technical University (KsTU), Dr. Ishaq Kyei Brobbey has publicly advised Stephen Ntim, the National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), to consider resigning from his position if his current health condition is unstable.

Citing the party’s constitution, Dr. Ishaq suggested that Ntim’s resignation would allow him to focus on his health without the added pressures of leading the party.

With the party’s conference scheduled for next month, Dr. Ishaq emphasized the need for a vibrant and active chairman to lead the event effectively.

“The heat will be intense next month, and the party requires a chairman who can lead with vigor and energy,” he stated on Wontumi TV.

This advice comes after Ntim’s family announced that he would be withdrawing from active politics temporarily to prioritize his health. Dr. Ishaq believes that, given Ntim’s current situation and the party’s upcoming conference, resignation would be the best course of action to allow him to concentrate on his well-being.

The NPP’s constitution does provide provisions for such scenarios, and Dr. Ishaq’s comments have sparked discussions within the party about leadership and the importance of health in fulfilling duties.
