The Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa Central, Hon Naana Eyiah, has said the call for the probing into the usage of the covid-19 funds by the ranking member on the Health Committee of Parliament is baseless.
Her comment comes after Hon Kwabena Minta Akando, MP for Juaboso and Ranking member on the Health Committee of Parliament called for probe into the covid-19 receipts and expenditure.
Speaking on the above on Movement In The Morning Show With Kwaku Dawuro, she said that ‘’Ghanaians are aware of what the Nana –Addo led government did during the covid-19 pandemic- we gave free food, water , electricity, sanitizers. Government spent huge sums of money on purchasing veronica bucket, tissues, sanitizers and soaps for all public schools and government institutions. We gave soft loans for business that collapsed due to the pandemic . Although sanitizers at the time were very expensive, government continuously implemented measures that helped in the curbing the menace”, she said.
”Hon Kwabena Minta Akando is my friend, but he just wants to score political points- he knows very well that the money did not go anywhere”, she added.
