Ashanti regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako has questioned the sincerity of Former President John Dramani Mahama’s promise to offer free entry to tertiary education.
According to the Ashanti Governor, Ghanaians still vividly remember the crippling power outages, popularly known as “dumsor,” that plagued the nation during Mahama’s presidency.
“The constant blackouts led to business closures, job losses, and skyrocketing electricity bills, which many are still struggling to pay. The economic hardship caused by “dumsor” cannot be easily forgotten”, he said.
Chairman Wontumi stated that Mahama seeks to woo voters with a promise, which is an attempt to whitewash his past failures. But Ghanaians can never trust him to deliver on this promise, given his track record.
“Mahama’s promise is a desperate attempt to distract from his abysmal record and win back the trust of Ghanaians. It’s a clever tactic, but we must not fall for it, ” he cautioned Ghanaians.
He urged Ghanaians to be cautious and not fall for Mahama’s sweet talk.
“We must remember the lessons of the past. Mahama’s actions, not words, should guide our decisions. We can’t afford to be fooled again,” he stressed.
