The Ashanti regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako has heaped praises on the former Majority Leader of Parliament, Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, after the latter’s resignation.
According to the Ashanti Governor, the Suame legislator’s name will forever be mentioned in the history books of NPP, for honourably resigning as the majority leader.
This comes after the Honourable Member of Parliament had voluntarily resigned as the Majority Leader on Wednesday, “in order to still the storm and facilitate the peace and unity for the party at this time”.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament, he clarified that the decision was solely his and not influenced by external pressure, as speculated in some media reports.
“Your name is inked in the history book of NPP forever. You’ve shamed the NDC, and this has given a clear indication that the NPP is resolute to win the 2024 elections”, Chairman Wontumi said to movementtvonline.
The Effutu Member of Parliament, Hon. Afenyo Markins, has been appointed as the new Majority Leader of Parliament. Contrary to speculations, Hon. Afenyo Markins and Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu are in good terms, and nothing can divide their bond.
However, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the Majority Leader, who stepped down from his position on Wednesday, has been appointed as the Chairman of the manifesto committee, constituted by the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
