The Volta Regional organizer for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Korsi Bodja has said that the 2023 budget statement shouldn’t be a subject of ridicule.
Explaining why the 2023 budget should not be ridiculed on the Movement in the morning show on Wontumi Radio/Movement TV, he said that “two key items that are used to determine whether the budget is good or not is the expenditure line and the revenue line and the opposition NDC is taking advantage of the current economic hardship to ridicule and criticize the ruling government. However, thankfully Ghanaians have come to the realization that it’s as a result of global crisis”.
He told Kwaku Dawuro that there are a lot of disinformation by the NDC, but the NPP remains focus on the bigger picture of ensuring that our economy bounces back to life, and not to be responding to what he described as lies and propaganda by the NDC.
He said that it’s clear Ghanaians have admitted and are gradually appreciating the fact that there are challenges but then it’s a global challenge- urging that whether the budget has been approved or not, stakeholders should be engaged so they can understand the measures government is outlining and some challenges associated with it.
“Continue to communicate with the people and find a way to support them because the exchange rate is making peoples lose their capital”, he stressed.
