An aspiring National Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Eric Amoako Twum, says building a strong political party must be devoid of patronage.
Mr. Amoako Twum says he is vying for the position to create an all-inclusive party.
“A lot of people have the party at heart. NPP does belong to any specific group, is for everyone. 6.3 million people voted for the party in 2020, and that should tell us the huge number of people who belongs to the party’’, he said on Movement TV.
He further said, “strategically building the party is not child’s play and patronage. Putting people in certain places because they are friends and family is not the way to go. We have to be very vigilant in that regard because Ghanaians strongly believe in the NPP”.
”We chose the elephant as our symbol for a purpose; we need to accommodate our differences. We form a political party to win power and not for any popularity contest”, he added.
He advised party members to effectively strategize and put things in the right places to break the 8 in the 2024 elections.
Mr. Amoako Twum is also a former member of the NPP communications team.
