‘The Right Things Must Be Done’-Hon. Francis Ato Cudjo Appeals To State Institutions Over 2021 Auditors Report

The former Deputy Minister for Fisheries, Hon. Francis Ato Cudjoe has appealed to the State Institutions to ensure the right things are done when it comes to its management.

Speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show after the Auditor General released the 2021 financial report, Hon. Ato Cudjoe said that ‘’if the internal systems and law work or if the right things are done, some of these reports will be wiped off. Most of these ministries do not chase their workers for refund. Strangely, 12 billion got missing and government officials were tagged as thieves, until further investigations were done and we realized just a little was procurement irregularities, and the rest were loans and debt. Our institutions must sit up and to avoid all these we must put workable measures in place. I was an accountant in a private sector, we check travels et al and we look at how much you took and  ensure you refund the money or it will be deducted from your salary”.

”I am not condemning what the Auditor General is doing but he should do it right. The ratings must be right because some of the rate goes as far as a year, and if you use a common rate to convert  then you haven’t done anything good”.

He advised institution heads to be vigilant when it comes to procurement activities.
